Pontoon with plastic floats
At the moment our collection includes two ready do-it-yourself -kits for pontoons with plastic floats. The K51 and K1i -pontoon kits contain everything you need for building a dock. The K5i dock is designed as to not include the longer wooden components in the A-Laiturit delivery. Instead these can be purchased from the closest store.
Transportation of the do-it-yourself kit is easy with a trailer and/or with a boat. The loose parts can easily be packed into the trailer and are light enough to carry to the shore.
Construction of the K5i pontoon begins by attaching the plastic floats to the wooden frame. After this is completed, the next step is to build the deck of the dock and possible side paneling. The pontoon is now ready to be anchored. 25kg manually installed weights are used for the anchor. These are sunk to the bottom along the chain. The amount of anchoring weights depends mainly on the wind conditions at the specific location. Our sales personnel will gladly offer advice on how to instal and anchor your pontoon dock
Lastly, the gangway is attached to the pontoon. The shoreside of the gangway will be loose. Because of this the shore has to offer an even ground where the gangway can move freely. The K5i pontoon kit also includes a swimming ladder, fenders and mooring rings. In addition the dock can be furnished with, for example, railings, safety equipment and extra fenders s and mooring rings. The lighter and smaller K1i pontoon with plastic floats is intended as a swimming dock and for mooring small boats in sheltered shores. The K1i dock does not require anchoring, it is connected directly to the ground support on shore. The ground support can be for example a wooden beam or a large stone. Screw poles can also be used to fasten the dock to the shore. It is also possible to cast the ground support in concrete h, for example, railings, safety equipment and extra fenders.
